     The verify flag provides increased data integrity by allowing the
     user to force a read-after-write verify of all data written to the
     disk, if that capability is supported by the manufacturer's disk
     driver.
 
     Because read-after-write verification slows disk operations, the
     default setting of the verify flag is OFF.
 
     The state of the verify flag can also be controlled by the MS-DOS
     commands VERIFY OFF and VERIFY ON.
