The distance field tells the assembler whether an address is
inside (NEAR) or outside (FAR) the current segment. When referring
to program or data labels, these modifiers are optional.

The NEAR and FAR address modifiers use the current segment size.
NEAR16, FAR16, NEAR32, and FAR32 override the current segment size
and use 16- or 32-bit segments, respectively.
