      2  Enhanced PIC N support. This setting enables the DBSPACE directive.
 
     Specifying JAPANESE with no parameter is the same as specifying
     JAPANESE"2".
 
     This directive is provided for compatibility purposes only. It has
     been replaced by the NCHAR directive. JAPANESE and NCHAR are
     synonymous. The JAPANESE and DBCS directives are mutually exclusive.
