     Compiler warning (level 1) C4004

     missing ')' after 'defined'

     The closing parenthesis was missing from an #if defined phrase.

     The compiler assumes a right parenthesis, ), after the first
     identifier it finds. It then attempts to compile the remainder of
     the line, which may result in another warning or error.

     The following example causes this warning and a fatal error:

          #if defined( ID1 ) || ( ID2 )

     The compiler assumed a right parenthesis after ID1, then found a
     mismatched parenthesis in the remainder of the line. The following
     avoids this problem:

          #if defined( ID1 ) || defined( ID2 )
                                    -♦-
