     Formatting flags change character attributes. Applications
     translate these attributes into type styles or colors, depending
     on your hardware configuration. Three character attributes can be
     changed:
 
     Flag     Attribute
 
     \b       Boldface
     \i       Italic
     \u       Underlining
 
     In addition, the \p flag turns off all attributes.
