  Parameter   Description
 
  <nIndex>    An index into a table of words that are associated with the
              ios object.
 
  Remarks
 
  The xalloc member function provides the index into the table of
  special-purpose words. The pword function converts that index to a
  reference to a pointer to a 32-bit word.
