POSITION DIALOG BOX (Screen 1 of 4)
Word recognizes a graphic or a paragraph of text
as an object contained in a frame.
Horizontal
Select the horizontal position for the frame:
Left Left-aligns frame
Centered Centers frame in horizontal area
Right Right-aligns frame
Inside Aligns frame toward the inside of
facing pages
Outside Aligns frame toward the outside of
facing pages
Note: You can also type an absolute measurement
for horizontal position; for example, 2.5".

Relative To
Indicate that you want the frame positioned
relative to Margin, Page, or Column.
Vertical
Select the vertical position for the frame:
Inline Positions the frame at its current
position. You can also type a
measurement to specify the distance
between top of the frame and top of
page or top margin.
Top Top margin or top of page.

Centered Between margins or page edges.
Bottom Bottom of margin or page.
Relative To
To position the frame relative to the
margins, select Margin. To position the frame
relative to the page edge(s), select Page.
Distance From Text
The default is 1/6" between the frame and
surrounding text. To change this, type a
new measurement.

Paragraph Width
Type or select a measurement for the frame
width. Text will wrap within the frame width.
Reset
Resets options to default measurements:
Horizontal position Left
Horizontal Relative To Column
Vertical position Inline
Vertical Relative To Margin
Distance From Text 0.167 inch
