dFormat
Format
 
The layout and appearance of text on a page. In
Word, a format can derive from both direct
formatting and the application of styles. Direct
formatting is the result of applying styles with
the Format commands or speed formatting keys; in
a style sheet, formatting instructions determine
how to format document text. The three types of
formats are character formats (font and point
size), paragraph formats (alignment and spacing),
and section formats (overall page design). See
