Important Notice
The pages on this site contain documentation for very old MS-DOS software,
purely for historical purposes.
If you're looking for up-to-date documentation, particularly for programming,
you should not rely on the information found here, as it will be woefully
out of date.

Edit menu, Record On command («_pwbrecord»)
Macro ◄_pwbrecord►
Choose Record On to toggle macro recording on and off.
If you have not already set options for recording, PWB brings up
the Set Macro Record dialog box so that you can specify the name
and key association for the recorded macro. After you choose the
options you want, PWB starts recording the macro.
See: ◄Edit menu, Set Record►
While PWB records a macro:
■ The letter X appears on the status bar.
■ Commands that cannot be recorded are unavailable.
These include Set Record, Undo, Browse menu commands, Project
menu commands, Help menu commands, and PWBHELP functions.
■ PWB does not record changes in cursor position when you click
the mouse. Use the keyboard if you want to include cursor
movements in a macro.
■ A bullet appears next to Record On as follows:
┌──────────────────┐
│ Set Record... │
│•Record On │
└──────────────────┘
To record a macro without executing the commands as they are
recorded, use the function sequence Meta Record («meta» «record»).
See: Record
TIP: When the Record window is open, you can watch the macro
definition as it is recorded.
More information on how to record and save macros is available.
