ACCESS Clause
 
Syntax
  {ACCESS READ | ACCESS WRITE | ACCESS READ WRITE}
 
The ACCESS clause is used in the OPEN statement. It works only if you
are using a version of DOS that supports networking (DOS Versions 3.0
or later).
 
  ■ READ          Opens a file for reading only.
  ■ WRITE         Opens a file for writing only.
  ■ READ WRITE    Opens a file for both reading and writing. This mode
                  is valid only for RANDOM and BINARY files and files
                  opened for APPEND.
