             <stdlib.h>              (atoi, atol)
             <math.h>                (_atold)
 
  Syntax:    double atof( char *string );
             int atoi( char *string );
             long atol( char *string );
             long double _atold( char *string );
 
  Returns:   the converted string, or 0 if the string cannot be
             converted.
