Important Notice
The pages on this site contain documentation for very old MS-DOS software,
purely for historical purposes.
If you're looking for up-to-date documentation, particularly for programming,
you should not rely on the information found here, as it will be woefully
out of date.
tmpfile

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The tmpfile function creates a temporary file and returns a
pointer to that stream. If the file cannot be opened, tmpfile
returns a NULL pointer.
This temporary file is automatically deleted when the file is
closed, when the program terminates normally, or when rmtmp is
called, assuming that the current working directory does not
change. The temporary file is opened in w+b (binary read/write)
mode.
Return Value
If successful, the tmpfile function returns a stream pointer.
Otherwise, it returns a NULL pointer.
