Important Notice
The pages on this site contain documentation for very old MS-DOS software,
purely for historical purposes.
If you're looking for up-to-date documentation, particularly for programming,
you should not rely on the information found here, as it will be woefully
out of date.

Topics in this on-line documentation are in a hierarchy. You move
from topic to topic by selecting the words in ◄ ►. These words
are called buttons. There are four standard ones always on the
top line, which is called the button bar. They take you to:
◄Up► Topic above in the hierarchy (in (↑...) by the title)
◄Contents► Table of Contents
◄Index► Index
◄Back► Topic you just came from
Sometimes there is a ◄Key► button, taking you to a topic that
explains notation. So that you can return easily, Key topics
have an extra ◄Back► button in the same position.
Other buttons on the button bar take you to neighboring topics.
A format selector is a group of buttons offering variants of a
topic. The button for the variant displayed is highlighted.
Other buttons in ◄ ► take you down the hierarchy or are
cross-references across the hierarchy. In topics that present
menus, cross-references across the hierarchy are in ◄ ►.
Selecting such a hot-spot and then selection "Up" will not return
to the menu topic you came from.
