Important Notice
The pages on this site contain documentation for very old MS-DOS software,
purely for historical purposes.
If you're looking for up-to-date documentation, particularly for programming,
you should not rely on the information found here, as it will be woefully
out of date.

FILE CLOSE
Procedures: <Closing a document>
Use the File Close command to close the document
in the <active> window.
■ Word suggests that you save changes to your
document before you close it. If you close a
document without saving it, you lose all
changes made since you last saved.
■ Before closing unnamed documents, Word displays
the Save As dialog box and suggests that you
name and save the document.
■ File Close cannot be reversed with the
Edit Undo command.
■ You can also close a document by using the
Window Close command, or, if you have a mouse,
by clicking the close icon in the upper-left
corner of the document window.
