DESIGNATING INDEX ENTRIES

Overview: <Insert Index command>

To designate index entries:
1. Turn on Hidden Text in the View Preferences
dialog box to see index codes as you type them.
2. Move the cursor to the first letter of the
word or phrase that you want to include in the
   index.
3. Press Ctrl+H to format as Hidden Text.
4. Type .i.
5. If the word or phrase you want to include in
the index is not a paragraph, add a semicolon
after it to serve as the end of the entry.
Format the semicolon as hidden text (Ctrl+H).

Note: If the entry is a paragraph or is at the end
of a section, the paragraph or section
endmark functions as the end of the index
      entry.
