INSERTING A NEW STYLE
Overview: <Insert New Style command>
To insert a new style:
1. Choose Format Define Styles (Alt,T,D) to open
the style sheet window.
2. If you want to insert the style in a style
sheet that is not currently open, choose File
Open (Alt,F,O) and open the style sheet.
3. Choose Insert New Style (Alt,I,N).
4. In the Style Type box, select a type for the
style.
5. In the Style I.D. box, Word displays an
available style I.D. for the new style:
■ If you want to use this style I.D., proceed
to the next step.
■ To assign a different style I.D., select one
from the list. Available style I.D.s do not
have parentheses next to them.
6. To assign a key code to the style, type a
one- or two-character code in the Key Code
box.
7. In the Remark box, type descriptive text about
the style to help you remember its purpose.
8. Choose OK.
