TURNING THE BEEP ON OR OFF
 
Overview: <Utilities Customize command>
 
Word's beep alerts you to problems or errors. The
default setting is on.
 
To turn the beep off:
1. Choose Utilities Customize (Alt,U,U).
2. In the lower center of the Utilities Customize
   dialog box, turn the Mute check box on.
3. Choose OK.
 
To turn the beep on:
■ Turn off the Mute check box.
