RENUMBERING HEADINGS
Overview: <Utilities Renumber command>
To renumber all or part of an outline in outline
view:
1. Remove any numbers from the original heading
levels by selecting the Remove option in the
Utilities Renumber dialog box, or by deleting
the numbers manually.
2. Select the first character or heading in the
outline to renumber the entire outline, or
switch to <outline organize> mode and select
the portion of the outline you want to
renumber.
3. Choose Utilities Renumber (Alt,U,R).
4. Select the All option.
5. Do one of the following:
■ Turn on Restart Sequence to number from the
first number in a sequence; for example,
1 or i.
■ Turn off Restart Sequence to number from
the current position in a sequence; for
example, 3 or iii.
6. Choose OK.
