MOUSE CHANGES
Working with Windows
To: Point to:
Close window Close icon (upper-left corner
of window) and click mouse
button
Maximize/restore Maximize/restore
window icon (upper-right corner of
window) and click mouse button
Move window Title bar and drag to new
position
Open footnote Split icon (═) at top of
or annotation vertical scroll bar, , hold
pane Shift, and drag down
Size window Size icon (lower-right corner
of window) and drag to new
position
Split window Split icon (═) at top of
horizontally vertical scroll bar, and drag
down
Using the Ruler and Tabs
To: Point to:
Turn ruler on Ruler/ribbon icon and click
and off mouse button
Clear tab stop Tab marker and drag off ruler
Move tab Tab marker and drag to new
position
Set tab Ruler position and click mouse
button
Dialog Box Buttons
To choose an option or command button in a
dialog box, point to the option or command button
and click.
Scrolling
Click the scroll arrows to scroll line by line.
Click the scroll bar (gray area) to scroll a
screenful at a time.
To go to the beginning or end of a document, drag
the scroll box to the top or bottom of the
vertical scroll bar.
