The pages on this site contain documentation for very old MS-DOS software,
purely for historical purposes.
If you're looking for up-to-date documentation, particularly for programming,
you should not rely on the information found here, as it will be woefully
out of date.

FORMAT TABS
Procedures: <Working with tabs>
Use the Format Tabs command to set, clear, and
reset <tab stops>, and to align text in
<tables>.
■ You can set tabs in Word using either the
<ruler> or the Format Tabs command.
If you use a mouse, the ruler is especially
helpful.
■ Word's <default> tab stops appear at 0.5-inch
intervals. You can change the default tab stops
using the Utilities Customize command.
■ To see tab stops and <tab characters> on the
screen, choose the View Preferences command and
turn on the Show All or Tabs check box.
■ You create tables by setting custom tab stops
for each column in the table. Once you create a
table, you can select, delete, move, or copy a
column.
■ Word provides <macros> that set up tables and
tabs quickly. For more information, see Chapter
22, "Macros," in the Using Manual.
