INSERTING A FOOTNOTE
Overview: <Insert Footnote command>
To insert a footnote:
1. Move the cursor to where you want to insert
the footnote reference mark.
2. Choose Insert Footnote (Alt,I,N).
The Footnote dialog box is displayed.
3. For automatically numbered footnotes, select
the Auto-Numbered Reference option.
For a different type of reference mark, type
the character or characters you want to use
in the Footnote Reference Mark box. For
example, you might want to type an asterisk
(*), or the word "note."
4. Choose OK.
Word inserts the reference mark and moves the
cursor and the footnote reference mark to the
end of the document.
5. Type the footnote text.
After you type the footnote, you can choose
Edit Go To (Alt,E,G), or press F5 and Enter,
to move back to the reference mark in the
document.
