INSERTING A GRAPHIC
Overview: <Insert Picture command>
To insert a graphic:
1. Open the Word document where the graphic will
be inserted.
2. In the Word document, move the cursor to where
you want to insert the graphic.
3. Choose Insert Picture (Alt,I,P).
4. In the Picture File Name box, type the
filename of the graphic file you want to
import, or select the file in the Files list.
5. If Word can detect the file format, it
displays it in the Format box.
If the Format box is blank, select the
appropriate format in the list box.
6. Select the appropriate alignment in the
Align In Frame box.
7. Accept the preset width and height for the
graphic or select dimensions in the Graphics
Size box. You may type any dimensions you
want, but Word suggests dimensions that keep
the aspect ratio of the original graphic
intact.
8. To add white space before and after the
graphic, type measurements in the Space box.
9. Choose OK.
