EXPANDING AN OUTLINE
 
Overview: <View Outline command>
 
To expand all headings and body text:
1. Press Ctrl+5 (on the numeric keypad) to select
   the entire outline.
   If you are not in <outline organize> mode,
   Word switches to it automatically.
2. Press Asterisk (* on the numeric keypad) to
   expand all document headings.
3. Press Shift+Plus (+ on the numeric keypad) to
   expand all body text.
 
To expand or collapse all headings to a specified
level:
1. Press and hold down Alt+Shift.
2. Type the heading level you want to expand or
   contract the outline to.
   For example, to show all heading levels 1-3,
   press Alt+Shift+3.
 
To expand the next level below a heading:
1. Move the cursor to the heading.
2. Press Plus (+ on the numeric keypad).
 
To expand all levels below a heading:
1. Move the cursor to the heading that you want
   to expand.
2. Press Asterisk (* on the numeric keypad).
   This procedure does not expand body text.
 
To expand body text directly below a heading:
1. Move the cursor to the heading above the body
   text you want to expand.
2. Press Shift+Plus (+ on the numeric keypad).
