TYPING AN OUTLINE
Overview: <View Outline command>
To type an outline and assign heading levels:
1. Choose View Outline (Alt,V,O).
2. Type the first heading and press Enter.
This inserts a level-1 heading and starts
another level-1 heading.
3. To type:
■ A new heading at a lower level, type the
heading and press Ctrl+0. Word indents
subheadings 0.4".
■ A new heading at a higher level, type the
heading and press Ctrl+9.
To add headings to an existing outline:
1. In outline edit mode, place the cursor at the
end of the line that will precede the new
heading.
2. Press Enter.
3. Type the new heading and assign it the level
you want (press Ctrl+0 or Ctrl+9).
To add body text to an outline:
1. In outline edit mode, place the cursor at the
end of the line you want to precede the body
text.
2. Press Enter.
3. Press Ctrl+X and type the text.
Word places a "T" in the <selection bar> next
to body text.
