EDITING A STYLE BY RECORDING CHANGES
Overview: <Format Record Style>
You can change the formatting for text that has a
style applied to it, and then use the Format
Record Style command or the Style box on the
<ribbon> to permanently record the changes
to the style.
To change a style by recording changes:
Using the Format Record Style command:
1. Format the text so that it has the format you
want to use.
2. Select the text.
3. Choose Format Record Style (Alt,T,R).
4. Do one of the following:
■ If the information in the Key Code, Style
Type, Remark, and Style I.D. boxes is
correct for the style you want to change,
choose OK.
■ If the information is incorrect, select the
style I.D. for the style you want to change,
and then choose OK.
5. If Word displays a message asking if you want
to replace the existing style, choose OK.
Using the Style box on the <ribbon>:
1. Format the text so that it has the format you
want to use.
2. Select the text.
3. Choose View Ribbon (Alt,V,B) or press Ctrl+S
to activate the ribbon.
4. In the Style box, select the style you want to
change from the list.
5. Press Enter.
The Record Style dialog box will appear.
6. Do one of the following:
■ If the information in the Key Code, Style
Type, Remark, and Style I.D. boxes is
correct for the style you want to change,
choose OK.
■ If the information is incorrect, select the
style I.D. for the style you want to change,
and then choose OK.
7. If a message displays asking if you want to
replace the existing style, choose OK.
